Bio
The fisheries consist of Lintrathen Loch and Backwater Dam. Both waters are owned by Scottish Water and are public water supplies serving Dundee and surrounding areas.
The 485 acre Lintrathen Loch, which is boat fishing only, has twenty one boats, including one wheely boat for disabled anglers, and is stocked on a regular basis with rainbow trout, averaging 2lbs with some up to 5lbs. The loch also has a large stock of natural brownies with an average weight of ¾ lbs.
Surrounded by trees, it is a natural habitat for wildlife, including deer and ospreys and fishing Lintrathen gives anglers a feeling of tranquillity as well as the excitement of catching truly quality fish.
The Backwater Dam, situated further up the glen gives the purist a chance to fly fish the banks for wonderful wild brown trout with an average weight of ½ lb.
Both lochs are regularly visited by clubs and individual anglers from the furthest points of the country and Lintrathen has been a venue for the Commonwealth Championship. It also annually hosts the Scottish Anglers National Association Competition heats
The facilities at Lintrathen consist of boathouse, office and toilet which is also suitable for the disabled. Backwater permits are available at the Lintrathen office.
